The CD4/CD8 ratio is a pivotal immunological parameter that plays a crucial role in the comprehensive assessment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. This review offers a thorough examination of the CD4/CD8 ratio as an immunological barometer, encompassing its historical context, underlying mechanisms, clinical significance, evolving perspectives, and therapeutic implications in the context of HIV.
