Abstract

This article explored the transformative role of digital governance in East Africa, examining its diverse
implications on public service delivery. It outlines the region's initiatives aimed at harnessing digital technologies
to streamline administrative processes, enhance efficiency, and promote transparency and accountability. The
importance of expanding access to services, empowering citizens through engagement, and utilizing data for
informed decision-making is underscored. Innovative service delivery models, capacity-building efforts, and
strategies to address challenges such as the digital divide and cyber security risks are explored. By synthesizing
these insights, the article highlights the potential of digital governance to revolutionize governance practices in
East Africa and provides future directions for sustainable implementation.
